Election and Voting Information

Voting Information

Types of Voting

All Ohio voters with up-to-date registration information can vote early; in person or from their home in any election.

Absentee Voting

Ohio allows any registered voter to request an absentee ballot and vote by mail. The voter or the voter's family member may return the ballot.

You will need to add postage to your envelope if you return your completed ballot by mail. If you want to drop your ballot off without adding postage, place it in the voter drop box at the Election Office.

In-Person Early Voting

Starting the day after the close of voter registration, voters can cast an early in-person ballot at the Board of Elections office. Please bring identification to the vote center.

Voting In-Person

In Ohio, you need to show a current, valid ID to vote. Your ID must include your name (which must substantially conform to your name as it appears in the poll list), photo, address, and expiration date that has not passed.
